The Acadia Disposal District is a quasi-municipal, non-profit corporation owned by its member towns - Cranberry Isles, Frenchboro, Mount Desert, Trenton, and Tremont - in coastal Hancock County, Maine. We coordinate solid-waste disposal and recycling for our towns. Our goal is to provide environmentally friendly, cost-effective disposal and recycling. We are developing plans to site and operate a modern transfer station and recycling center to serve our growing community.
